Job Description

Position Summary 

The Graphic Designer will be a creative, self-motivated individual with a keen visual sense and passion for good design. The designer will work with multi-disciplinary teams, which will involve observing, listening, researching, and brainstorming to communicate ideas in the form of presentations, web media, print media, reports, proposals and other materials. prototypes. The designer will work closely with cross-functional teams to distill core ideas and messages and communicate them visually for technical and non-technical audiences. 

General Responsibilities
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for a wide range of functions, including but not limited to:

• Collaborates with the team and/or other departments to understand project assignment, audience, and intended message;
• Creates original visual media that communicates the desired feeling or message in an engaging and unified way;
• Ability to create high-quality designs for multiple projects such as infographics, reports, proposals, and other collateral materials.
• Manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions; ensuring project completion in timely manner
• Prepares drafts of design work and provides templates to appropriate staff or departments for review;
• Revises projects as necessary based on a collaborative feedback process;
• Select colors, fonts, images, and layouts to create and design various materials for digital and print;
• Format and/or design documents in Word on PowerPoint
• Advise best practices and optimizations throughout design projects;
• Collaborate with team members on new approaches for creating more expressive graphics;
• Work with a wide range of media and graphic design software;
• Establish creative direction for the organization within brand guidelines;
• Determine voice and messaging for graphic design pieces; and
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; major or significant coursework in Art, Graphic Design, or related discipline. A master’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in graphic design or related professional field.

• Excellent knowledge of graphic design and working knowledge of video production;
• Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and web;
• Experience with both print and digital media with strong experience of building and engaging online audience through social media
• Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred;
• Proven portfolio of work with a wide range of creative projects and programs;
• Time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, complex information in a clear, concise manner;
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including a demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team or collaborative environment; and
• Advanced experience with Adobe Suite, Photoshop, InDesign, QuarkXPress, Illustrator video editing, graphic design/InDesign, HTML coding, CSS and JavaScript required; and
• Advanced experience with MS Office Suite, particularly – Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
