Club Assist US is Hiring a Technical Trainer Near Los Angeles, CA

 

Summary

The primary role of the Technical Trainer is to plan, organize, and deliver technical instruction to internal and external customers to enhance their learning and proficiency in the service, diagnostics, and repair of AAA automotive batteries. This role may require up to 75% travel in the Western United States and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and deliver technical instruction to internal and external customers to enhance their learning and proficiency in the service, diagnostics, and repair of AAA automotive batteries.
• Ensure Club (external customer) involvement in meeting AAA’s Automotive Quality Standard #2 for the battery program training.
• Prepare and deliver quality training through effective instructor preparation and classroom/vehicle preparation:
o Prepare for instruction delivery (includes setup and takedown before and after course delivery and general maintenance of training facility, vehicle(s), and equipment);
o Review the latest Technical Bulletins and Special Service Messages to remain proficient and knowledgeable on product technical matters;
o Review and rehearse lesson plans and presentations;
o Participate in Train-the-Trainer sessions to expand and enhance training delivery capability and capacity.
• Conduct training needs analysis and partner with Operations to determine design needs, select strategies, and forecast expense.
• Conduct onsite/classroom training, as well as webinar sessions and in-field assessments.
• Use a variety of active learning methods to ensure learner retention.
• Generate post training assessments and evaluations, and follow-up with customers to assess performance deltas.
• Visit locations as metrics dictate to conduct in-field assessments or retraining.
• Provide support, and work collaboratively with other technical trainers and instructional design teams.
• Drive results to achieve high-quality work results regardless of work complexity.
• Build collaborative relationships both internally and externally.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

•2-5 years of automotive or related field training experience.
•Technical aptitude, professional presentation skills, and superior customer service skills required.
•Knowledge of diagnosis and replacement/installation of automotive batteries a plus.
•Strong computer and mobile device literacy, especially Microsoft O365 (Excel, Word, PPT, and Outlook).
•Effective communications skills (listening, constructive feedback, conflict resolution, writing, presentation).
•Self-leadership to continuously learn and develop oneself, including strong time management and organization required.
•Personal energy to proactively address situations and adopt a positive approach; resilience in front of change and obstacles.
•Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
•Able to stand for long periods.
•Valid driver license and clean driving record.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Experience with course development and training methodologies for technical content.
  • ASE Certification (A6 or better).
