City of Virginia Beach is Hiring a BH/DS Clinician II Near Virginia, VA
Job Duties:
The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking a candidate with Part C Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) experience and Early Intervention experience to hire for the Part C/Early Intervention Service Coordinator position in the Infant Program for the Developmental Services Division.
Duties:
- Manage a caseload and perform service coordination services for children birth through two with developmental delays to include prescreening, initial interview, and initial and ongoing service plan development.
- Coordinate and monitor service and links and refer the child and family to necessary services as documented on the Individual Family Service Plan.
- Assist in carrying out mandated Child Find activities.
- Conduct informational sessions for community partners and deliver program informational pamphlets and literature to local physician’s offices, hospitals, libraries, and other community gathering places.
- Link child and family with community services including, but not limited to, the school system, public health, public assistance through social service agencies, therapy agencies, and substance abuse and mental health services.
- Complete mandated Part C 90-Day Transition Meetings for children transitioning to Part B services. Follow Part C guidelines in recommending and providing Part C services as well as determining family pay shares for those services.
- Provide necessary individualized services for each child in order to ensure that the child's and family's Part C identified needs are met and services provided are adequate and of quality (i.e., face-to-face contacts as needed, IFSP reviews as needed, etc.).
- Schedule home visits and completes screening and /or required intake paperwork as needed.
- Document services provided in each child's clinical record. Follows all State and Federal regulations as they apply.

Minimum Requirements:
MINIMUMS: Requires a four (4) year degree in a human services field (psychology, mental health, special education, social work) and three (3) years experience working with persons with intellectual disability OR experience and/or training equivalent to seven (7) years in fields providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for working with persons with intellectual disabilities. Must have, or obtain, a current and valid drivers license. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
