City of Seattle is Hiring a Marketing Development Coordinator Near Seattle, WA

Seattle Center is recruiting for a dynamic Marketing Development Coordinator with solid knowledge and experience with planning and managing marketing programs and strategies to meet organizational objectives, build brand awareness/loyalty, generate revenue, and pursue new business opportunities. The position is in the Marketing business unit and reports to the Seattle Center Marketing Manager.
 
As part of the Marketing team, the Marketing Development Coordinator will be responsible for establishing positioning, identifying target audiences, and developing and executing marketing programs across multiple traditional, digital, and social platforms. The Marketing Development Coordinator will join a team that generates concepts, campaigns and initiatives to promote public, cultural and commercial events including major concerts and festivals, family shows, arts performances, sporting and other events in Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, Climate Pledge Arena, and other campus facilities, Seattle Center-produced programming such as Festál, Winter/Summer Fitness, Movies at the Mural and Winterfest, programming created by community and campus resident organizations, and initiatives in partnership with business organizations including Climate Pledge Arena, Space Needle, and the Uptown Arts and Cultural District.
 
Additionally, as part of the Marketing team, this position provides brand and marketing support for Seattle Center internal business units, departmental initiatives and other areas including sponsorship and strategic partnerships. This support provides overall coordination and account/project management to develop, implement and facilitate understanding and execution of a department–wide marketing vision, maximizing opportunities for cross-promotion and new revenue.
  • Manage, develop, execute, and track creative, innovative, and consistent Seattle Center brand and marketing programs across multiple platforms including traditional and digital advertising, social media, collateral, print and digital signage, sponsorship, print and digital media assets.
  • Manage development, execution, communications, and coordination of marketing programs with cross-functional internal teams, contractors/consultants, external agencies, and outside business partners.
  • Communicate marketing objectives, strategies and execution details to Seattle Center Executives and management, business units, cross-functional and external teams to ensure integration and support for programs and initiatives, and alignment with global brand strategies and specific project objectives.
  • Develop and manage relationships with Seattle Center resident organizations, internal and external creative teams, business partners, agencies, vendors, and other resources to create and pursue opportunities for cross-promotions and new revenue.
  • Define, gather, organize, and track content from multiple internal and external resources to create marketing assets produced on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Manage specific project budgets including funding from internal and external resources, negotiation, and placement of media buys, and tracking and processing of project/program-related expenses.
  • Proactively stay on top of digital marketing trends and news, to inform future growth strategies and opportunities.
  • Track and analyze marketing performance and effectiveness. Share results with Seattle Center marketing and other business units and integrate findings into future activities and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires two years of experience in developing or implementing marketing plans and a baccalaureate degree in marketing, business administration (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).

  • Passionate, creative thinker with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to quickly pivot strategies as needed while ensuring long-term goals and objectives are met
  • Expert knowledge of current marketing trends and multimedia platforms
  • Metrics-driven marketing mind, able to report on data, return on investment and key performance metrics
  • Experienced with placement and management of paid traditional and digital and social advertising buys
  • Proficiency with online content, mobile marketing and social media marketing and development strategies
  • Exceptional account, project, and budget management skills, able to multi-task, self-directed with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong creative and written/verbal communication skills, skilled editor and proofreader
  • Able to build relationships and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders including design firms, external agencies and vendors
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity to drive programs forward

Work Environment/Conditions:

  • The work is performed in an office environment. Hybrid work arrangements will be considered.

The full pay range for this step-progression position is $44.14 - $51.39 per hour. New employees begin at Step 1 of the pay progression, which is $44.14 hourly. Current City employees starting rate of pay will be based on Personnel Rules regarding promotions.
