The City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities is seeking candidates to fill multiple Equipment Operator, Principal positions in the Storm Water and Wastewater Collections Divisions. The selected candidates will have fundamental knowledge of specialized equipment maintenance and repairs; conduct tests for the detection of faults; breaks; and leaks. The selected candidates will also have demonstrated leadership abilities and will assign and monitor work completions.
Substantive knowledge of operating complex heavy equipment and vehicles; of hydraulics, safety rules regarding the operation of various equipment and tools; basic math; traffic safety; map reading; preparing and restoring a work site. Demonstrated abilities in problem solving; oral and written communications; customer service; time management; organization; attention to detail in an environment involving electrical; power; water and gas lines; operating equipment in the Equipment Operator and Equipment Operator, Senior classifications, as well as operating equipment and vehicles mentioned above.
