Positions Supervised None

FLSA Status Non-Exempt

Starting Rate $14.98

Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

Education High School diploma or GED.

Experience No previous experience is required.

Certifications Texas Driver's License, TCEQ Water Distribution License, TCEQ Wastewater Collection License

Licensing Must possess a valid Texas CDL with a clear driving record.

Summary

Under general supervision, perform a variety of skilled equipment operations, utility installation, maintenance tasks, and perform related duties. These duties could include installation and repair of mainlines, service lines, leak locating, and various other type of water utility repairs.

Essential Job Functions

· Perform a variety of skilled equipment operations including utility installation and maintenance tasks.

· Uses tools and equipment to install and repair utility mains and related structures following polices and safety protocols. May perform routine maintenance on equipment as needed.

· Maintains records of services performed, time spent on job, and material costs.

Ancillary Job Functions

· Contributes to team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.

· Basic infrastructure operations, construction, and maintenance methods and procedures.

· Equipment and materials used in water and sewer repair and replacement.

· Occupational hazards and the safety precautions associated with water treatment.

· Understand and follow written and oral directions.

· Use of computer systems used in water and sewer maintenance.

· Ability to speak clearly.

· Maintain records and prepare clear and concise reports regarding plant operation.

Equipment tools commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

GovPilot, backhoe, jet washing truck, jet washing trailer, sewer jet, rodder, compressor, line locator, grinder, water pumps, various hand tools, single and tandem axle dump trucks, tamper, jackhammer, compressor, line locator, grinder, sewer and water tapping/flushing machinery.

Work Environment or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

· May be required to work in high or dangerous places.

· Work may involve potentially life threatening exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, noise, chemicals/gases, contagious diseases, airborne particles/pathogens, and/or physical trauma.

· May often be exposed to uncomfortable temperatures, humidity, noise, chemicals/gases, contagious diseases, airborne particles/pathogens, and/or physical trauma.

· May be required to work in confined spaces.

· Position responsible for completing work that requires the use of a respirator.

· May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

· May be exposed to biohazards or bloodborne pathogens.

· Work may potentially involve risk of exposure to electrical shock.
