SALARYRANGE: Financial Analysis I: $28.04 – $34.34 Financial Analysis II: $30.29 – $37.86 The City of Austin’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) plans and prepares for emergencies, educates the public about preparedness, develops volunteers, manages grant funding to improve homeland security and public safety capabilities, coordinates emergency response and recovery, supports planned events, and works with public and partner organizations to protect our whole community when it needs us the most.
The Financial Analyst position will play a critical role, focusing largely on Cost Recovery efforts related to emergency events. This position will support the team through the review, verification, preparation, and submission of documentation from multiple City departments for each FEMA Public Assistance project under development. Additional responsibilities include overseeing quality assurance/quality control processes for segments of the business, managing large data sets, and identifying process efficiencies where possible. This position may also be responsible for financial entry adjustments and the creation of purchase orders.
