City Cruises is Hiring a National Tourism Sales Associate Near New York, NY

Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000

City Experiences is seeking a National Tourism Sales Associate for our Business Operations.

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity:

City Cruises mission is to create amazing experiences for our guests. The successful National Tourism Sales Associate will provide a variety of support to the account manager team, ranging from assisting with bookings to being on-site for client tours. Additionally, this position will heavily focus on assisting the team in the post-booking portion of the sales process and ensuring continuous customer satisfaction and maximized revenues and profitability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sales Support:

    • Takes the lead on client servicing with ability to prioritize overflow of inbound port leads, along with quick response and continued engagement before passing to an account manager.
    • Works with existing clients on payment collection, from collecting deposits 90 days prior to event to collecting final balances prior to cruising.
    • Assists in managing bookings that come through from travel agencies and low volume ($25K< annually) Tour Operators with single port requests.
    • Manage Sightseeing bookings and bookings, by booking either directly into Anchor or facilitating through the B2B portal.
    • Support the account manager team by assisting in Series Business, which may include creating and cloning orders.
    • Serve as the point person on Talkdesk, to include fielding calls and vetting as necessary before passing over to the account management team.
    • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of all regional vessels, products, enhancements, pricing, and scripting to be effective sellers.
    • Attain weekly prospecting goals through proactive client outreach as directed by the National Director of Sales to identify warm leads for the account management team.
    • Assists in managing bookings that come through from travel agencies and low volume ($25K< annually) Tour Operators with single port requests.
    • Properly vet RFP inquires from new tour operators, routing to the account management team thereafter.
    • Calls on new prospecting lists as directed by tourism directors, with goal of driving new business across the portfolio.
    • Handle objections as they arise by using vast product knowledge.
    • As directed, take the lead on post-contract follow-ups including passenger count adjustments and upsells to groups, with the goal of driving incremental revenue.
    • Successfully upsells existing guests to higher-value options and enhancements.
    • Attend networking events with the account manager team, with the goal of driving awareness within our local markets.
    • High attention to detail, including complete and accurate product details are communicated.
    • As directed, being present during highly detailed events, serving as a liaison between sales and operations.
  • Administrative:
    • Use Salesforce CRM system to effectively plan and manage the activities in the assigned markets and to track productivity of all sales efforts.
    • Use Salesforce CRM & Reservation systems to accurately book and manage reservations and cruise details.
    • Maintains good organizational skills through time management, setting priorities, and accurate paperwork.
    • Produces necessary weekly reports as assigned by National Tourism Director.
    • Attains fleet standard for weekly activities, to be accomplished by inputting all guest interactions into Salesforce.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Prior experience within the tourism industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Located within commuting distance to the Chelsea Pier’s Office.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office products as well and CRM
  • Analytical skills required to identify and exploit selling
  • Ability to set appointments with clients and sell in
  • Proposal writing is required, must communicate effectively in written
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by job
  • Must have ability to persuade and influence
  • Must be able to listen effectively, assesses the situation, determine relevant issues, identify solutions and gain consensus.
  • Satisfactory background check
