Job Title:

Parts and Materials Technician

Position Summary:

The Aircraft Parts and Materials Technician provides an important service to the Capitol Aircraft Maintenance Department. Having the right parts and materials available at the right time ensures that Capitol helicopters are available to go to work for our customers when they need us, and this role is central to safely and reliably meeting that need. We are looking for a detail-oriented person with a drive for maintaining disciplined process to join us at our Sacramento CA airbase. This role will also require someone who is able to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment where daily plans must be reprioritized at times to meet the needs of our Maintenance Department, which ultimately serves our air service customers.

Reports To:

Assistant Director of Maintenance

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

· Ensure parts entering and exiting inventory are verified, labeled, and tracked in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedure

· Maintain a current inventory status at all times

· Coordinate with Procurement Supervisor and Director of Maintenance (DOM) to establish and maintain minimum stocking levels

· Arrange for shipping and transportation of parts/components for installation, overhaul, or other service outside the Capitol airbase

· Coordinate with Maintenance department management to establish minimum stocking levels for shop consumables such as: Motor Oil, Cleaning Solutions, Spray Lube, Safety Wire, Hand Soap, Shop Towels, etc.

· Maintain MSDS records in accordance with OSHA regulations

· Audit supply cabinets and applicable supplies for MSDS and Safety Program compliance, and coordinate with Safety Manager for remediation of deficiencies

· Procure shop supplies and maintain at appropriate levels

· Coordinate with vendors as needed for consumable shop items such as: laundry services, cleaning supplies, parts washing solution, etc.

· Coordinate with Parts Procurement/Purchasing to ensure the maintenance department is supplied as needed

· Assist in storing and tracking Ops Gear (Long Lines, Slings, Bridles, etc.)

· Organize, track, and maintain records as required

· Interact with internal records and communication systems including: ModernHawk, EBIS, DATS, and others as required

· Conduct periodic audits to gauge compliance with established procedures for inventory creation and depletion.

· Report deficiencies and Safety issues in accordance with company policies and procedures.

· Contribute to overall compliance with regulatory and company requirements

Qualifications

· Highly developed organizational skills, especially in the area of data and document management

· Ability to navigate, research, and retrieve online technical data

· Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders through both written and verbal interactions

· Ability to work on-site full-time at the base in Sacramento, CA , and travel infrequently to satellite locations

· Ability to effectively work self-directed on a daily basis within a defined scope of responsibilities and objectives

· Experience with aviation repair processes and/or inventory management preferred, but not required

· Pay will be commensurate with experience and qualifications
