POSITION TITLE: PM HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER
REPORTING TO: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
SALARY RANGE: $65,000 - $70,000 PER YEAR
JOB PURPOSE :
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for the entire housekeeping department's operations, while maintaining a luxurious cleanliness standard as per sanitation guidelines and local regulations. Their focus is on meticulous planning, organization, and staff development to achieve maximum guest satisfaction. This role also involves staffing, scheduling, and training to ensure exceptional service delivery.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the daily activities of the housekeeping department to include appropriate cleaning of all bedrooms, public areas, and rooms.
- Planning, organizing, and directing team members to ensure the highest degree of guest satisfaction and high standards of cleanliness across the hotel.
- To monitor, check and maintain standards of cleanliness within all areas of the hotel daily.
- Daily supervision of all housekeeping staff.
- Purchase, order and maintain housekeeping supplies and inventory.
- Recruit, schedule and train all new housekeeping staff members.
- To adhere to all meetings such as health and safety meetings.
- Manage the housekeeping budget, control the holidays, and staff schedule systems.
- Maintain a cost control system for supplies, linen, and cleaning supplies for efficient operation of the hotel.
- To monitor and maintain good working relations with suppliers for linen, general waste, window cleaning, cleaning products, outside company for deep cleaning.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct.
- Ensures the well-maintained state of all equipment and coordinates with our maintenance team for repairs or replacements when equipment is used or damaged.
- To review and update the self-check cleaning sheets and to undertake all audits.
- To report any maintenance problems observed either in guest rooms immediately to the Hotel Manager, making sure that all the rooms are in full working order.
- To maintain a professional and helpful attitude while on duty. This will be towards guests, consultants, and colleagues.
- Work and communicate with all the other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel.
- Ensure that housekeeping staff wear the correct uniform whilst on duty.
- Assist when required with the cleaning of guest rooms.
- Manage all site waste disposal and collection.
- Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training.
- Inspecting rooms to ensure that company and Covid-19 standards of cleanliness are met.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience in hospitality housekeeping management as an executive housekeeper, housekeeping director, or similar position.
- Luxury hotel experience is preferred.
- Applicants should be excellent leaders, detail-oriented, and demonstrate a commitment to customer service.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and get them done in a timely manner.
- Must be able to carry & lift at least 50 pounds.
