Summary/Objective

The Machine Operator plans, coordinates, and carries out the full production run on a specific machine. Maintains only a high-quality output and is responsible for sanitation procedures on that equipment. 

Responsibilities

• Sanitize and perform startup of machine.
• Decide on the most productive and feasible production order.
• Frequently check end product to make sure it meets guidelines. 
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area. 
• Clean machine and work area upon completion of production run (per SSOPs).
• Responsible for production and quality records as assigned.
• Assume responsibility for integrity of the package (appropriate labeling and coding).
• Responsible for food safety and product quality as presented during GMP, HACCP, SQF, FSMA and Chemical/Sanitation trainings.
• Be alert to any suspicious activities as per the 1st ALERT training video.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Must be able to grasp, push, reach, or stoop/kneel/crouch.
• Frequently required to stand and walk.
• Lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs. and/or drag up to 200lbs.
• Must be able to tolerate cooler temperatures (37 degrees in coolers).
• Work indoors/outdoors for all seasons.

• Must be able to walk up a flight of stairs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full-time position; hours of work vary based on corresponding shift. Weekends and holidays based on business demands.

Preferred Education and Experience

• No specific experience/education required; GED preferred.
• Read, write, and comprehend English.
• Basic math skills; with ability to mathematically figure out quantities for production runs and coordinate required run with cartons and product supply.
• Ability to problem solve and effectively work with others.
• Willing to work as long as it takes to finish production run.
