Job Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist I will ensure employees are following all policies and procedures. The HR generalist will assist the Vice President, Human Resources with administering orientation and onboarding of new hires, training employees on policies & procedures and providing support for candidates and all employees.

Compensation:

- $46,800-$53,325 per year

Duty Station:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conducts or acquires background checks, employee eligibility verifications, drug screens, and credit checks.
- Audit semi-monthly timecards and assist managers with understanding and implementation
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for multi-state benefits and benefit liability matters
- Ensure all employees are set up correctly in payroll, enrolled in benefits, and have W4s/state tax forms completed
- Manage employee benefits monthly with each carrier and audit and approve all invoices
- Ensure state unemployment insurance compliance
- Ensure multi-state compliance in the US by opening new state unemployment insurance (SUI) and employer tax accounts, reactivating or closing existing ones, while also working with state labor & workforce departments on ongoing compliance and registration requests
- Support compliance processes in the US such as: W2 and 1095C distribution. Responsible for payroll compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding payments to employees, tax withholding, deductions from employee pay, benefits etc.
- Implements HRIS changes and assists in the implementation of various HRIS modules in Paycom
- Process withholding orders, garnishments, and employment verifications
- Complete unemployment and disability benefits forms/communications
- Generate reports for Accounting, Human Resources, Operations, and other Groups as needed
- Coordinate the annual open enrollment process, including organizing annual benefits training(s) to promote education, understanding and use of benefits such as health, dental, vision, life, and 401(k) enrollment
- Instructs employees on how to enroll in benefits and change their information through the self-service portal
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and documents disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Computer proficiency; strong knowledge of Excel, HRIS and Paycom processing systems
- Must be able to investigate identified issues and follow through to resolution
- Ability to perform under pressure in meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of various benefit programs & FMLA/Disability administration
- Working familiarity of state and federal labor laws and regulations
- Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports

Education and Experience:
- Required: Associate degree in human resources or related field
- Required: Minimum of three (3) years of human resource management experience as an onboarding specialist or in a similar HR role
- Required: Experience with HR standard software, such as ATS, and Office 365
- Required: Good working knowledge of HR practices and labor legislation
- Required: The ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
- Preferred: Paycom and/or Deltek experience
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- This job operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
