Our Preschool is growing and we’d like to welcome you to our team. We are currently seeking a full-time Assistant Teacher in our 3-year-old class.
Applicant Requirements:
Shift Availability: 9:00am – 6:00pm with an hour break (required for current opening)
Experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting (required for current opening)
Completed 45 hours through DCF (preferred, but we will accept the right candidate who is still working on this)
CPR and First-aid certified (preferred)
CDA (bonus, but not required)
Reliable to work assigned shift (required)
Current DCF approved background check completed (preferred, but can be obtained once hired)
Physical Requirements:
Be able to stand on your feet for up to 90% of the day
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
Sit on the floor and scrunch down to meet any child’s needs
Perform all activities with the children, including running, jumping etc.
Other requirements for the Position:
Ability to assist in implementing classroom curriculum (Frog Street)
Display excellent verbal and written communication skills
Provide children with a nurturing and safe environment where they feel loved and connected to their caregivers
Practice classroom management techniques that align with the Preschool’s positive guidance policies
Understand and implement developmentally appropriate practices with children
Communicate regularly and effectively with administration and other staff members
Establish strong parent and family relationships
Must be able to multi-task and exhibit great organizational skills
Must be able to understand and implement policies and procedures at all times
Candidate must be flexible and be able to respond to change as needed
Be a team player and open to learning new things
