Function: To establish a therapeutic setting and deliver effective services through positive role modeling and professionalism. The house manager is responsible for the day-to-day functioning, supervision, and management of the home.

Locations: Garfield, Englewood and Wayne.

Responsibilities:

• Implements a person-centered philosophy through identification and provision of support services to each individual living in the home.
• Serves as the Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP) coordinator for each resident, overseeing the development and implementation of each IHP, participates and serves as chairperson at IHP meetings, and continued monitoring of progress made.
• Coordinates service provisions within the community in conjunction with the Division of Development Disabilities (DDD) case manager and the individual’s family in order to meet the needs and achieve each resident’s IHP goals.
• Prepares monthly reports, as required by the agency, DDD, and regulatory bodies.
• Supervises staff in accordance with Agency policies and procedures. Ensure staff access to and participation in training opportunities to successfully implement program procedures and required documentation.
• Arranges staff work days and hours to maintain an efficiently run, homelike environment in the home in accordance with policies.
• On-call responsibilities.
• Provides appropriate staff training techniques through mentoring and modeling in accordance with requirements.
• Participates in all management team meetings.
• Provides planning and input to the budget development process and monitors expenditures to operate within the approved budget.
• Reviews and initials all logs in accordance with policies.
• Conducts routine audits regarding the administration of medication and medication procedures and ensures staff compliance with all guidelines.
• Provides direct care to residents as needed, including the provision of emergency coverage to the group home in addition to performing housekeeping and daily chore assignments involved in the upkeep of the home.
• Is responsible for overall documentation and administration of medication.
• Monitors and submits receipts for all petty cash expenditures.
• Completes all DHS required trainings and continues to improve skills through the College of Direct Support, the Elizabeth M. Boggs Center, and other training opportunities.
• Other duties assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with three years experience working with behaviorally challenging individuals.
• Preferred: BA degree in Social Services or related field, experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, and previous supervisory experience.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of NJ and good driving history.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Employee must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training.
• Must cooperate with the licensee, Department of Human Services (DHS) staff, Department of Children and Families (DCF) staff, and any and all state representatives in any inspection or investigation.

Pay: $52,600.00 - $54,600.00 per year
