Chief's is a six-story bar, restaurant, and live music venue designed to celebrate Eric Church's ever-expanding musical legacy. Located in historic downtown Nashville, Chief's will feature a ticketed music venue, inspirational interiors, and a thoughtful focus on unique live performances, offering fans an unparalleled entertainment experience in Music City. Chief's will house a studio for live broadcasting, inclusive of Church's Outsiders Radio SiriusXM channel, with the capability of hosting broadcasts by various media partners. Chief's will also feature a restaurant partnership with James Beard Award Winning Pitmaster Rodney Scott. Rodney Scott's Whole Hog BBQ will overlook downtown with its 'Hell of a Q' rooftop offering. Situated at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Broadway, Chief's is set to open at 200 Broadway.

Title: Marketing Manager

Department: Marketing

Reports to: General Manager

Location: Nashville, TN

ABOUT THE ROLE

Provide marketing support to operations to promote our brand in all areas related to music, culture, events, retail and restaurant service. Assist in the execution of all of developing marketing initiatives and explore new ones that increase revenue across all mediums. Create new avenues to capture customer data and grow our existing database over all active email groups. Assist in the managing of content and messaging in various outlets of communication to our customers and press. Frequently examine customer retention and work across departments to formulate ways to enhance loyalty programs. Assist in completing the circle of internal communication throughout the organization to make sure the team is prepared to react to all marketing initiatives.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

General:

  • Partner with Heads of PR and Communications to manage media contacts in music, event, and food and beverage channels. Establish good standing with key reviewers, bloggers, writers, and traditional media tastemakers.
  • Build and maintain up-to-date media databases with targeted outlet lists in music, events, food and beverage, wine, etc.; keep a current copy on a shareable drive for company access.
  • Generate all weekly event press releases and listings to be sent; copy all relevant parties (GM, Programming, Production)
  • Work on all social media outlets, including Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, etc.
  • Liaise with Heads of PR and Communications to participate in building strong relationships with media through communication and hospitality.
  • Maintain an updated press kit
  • Identify and exploit opportunities for strategic trade-in-kind agreements wherever and whenever possible.
  • Oversee donation/philanthropic requests including gift-giving and auction requests; some requests may require external approval.
  • Collaborate and meet regularly with the Programmer, Event Director, and GM (individually or as a group when necessary) to coordinate all projects and ensure consistent messaging.
  • Manage venue upcoming show reel and assist in making sure content is up to date and correctly formatted for Chief's proper branding (in tandem with design team)
  • Book freelance photographers to archive some shows and events (with proper confirmation from artist or event's team/contact/management) for venue promotional purposes, or at the request of the client.

Customer Relations:

  • Coordinate weekly programming email for the Church Choir and main database.
  • Manage all review sites and provide prompt responses.
  • Work with Private Events Teams to help promote and activate tentpoles
  • Develop, grow and administer email databases, including audience & prospect information, mailing list applications, etc.
  • Focus on all live ticketed events, particularly those with high guarantees or those that are underselling and ensure all avenues for success are explored. Work with Programming to strategize opportunities for improvement and connect weekly with relevant parties.
  • Have an understanding and knowledge of all artists booked to play Chiefs and how that correlates to promoting and cross-promoting show effectively.
  • Conceive, design and create effective and cost-efficient marketing collateral across all departments in coordination with Design team, including Postcards, Posters, Slide Show, Other Printed Material
  • Work with GM on any discount promotions for food, beverage, and/or retail

Digital Relations:

  • Oversee digital marketing efforts including uploading all information to website to keep it active and current.
  • Update home page and show information with focus on time sensitive shows and events and/or those with large financial investment.
  • Create all events in web system.
  • Manage brand social pages, including Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads etc.; make additional connections for show promotions and make sure artists are promoting shows on their sites as well.
  • Tweet about shows, programs, and highlights; create a digital buzz.
  • Drive traffic to our website through external links, including all artists websites.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Minimum of 5 years technical experience as Marketing Manager or equivalent
  • Experience working in a multi-faceted venue inclusive of F&B and Live Music
  • Lead on Marketing, PR, and Social activation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills.
  • Must have experience working cross departmental ex: Events, Programming, etc.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
