Chicago Westside Christian School is Hiring a Business Manager Near Chicago, IL

The School Business Manager ensures that the school operates efficiently and effectively as it fulfills its mission to nurture students academically, spiritually, socially, emotionally and creatively so they are equipped to lead and serve as Christians in the world. Tasks include but are not limited to: budgeting, bookkeeping, facility management, transportation, human resources, technology and safety. The School Business Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations and Development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • Three or more years of experience in business management or similar role
  • Strong ability with financial and budgetary processes
  • Proficient in Quickbooks Online
  • Strong ability with database and information systems software
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents and students
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

Finances:

  • Manage and process accounts payable, maintain tuition accounts, including working with delinquent accounts
  • Monitor the school’s budget and financial status on a regular basis to ensure that funds are used appropriately.
  • Become proficient with the school’s student information system and online parent payment program ()
  • Work with outside vendors
  • Manage financial aid
  • Coordinate federally funded programs (Title IIA and Title IV)
  • Work with accountant on reports and audit
  • Coordinate parent fundraisers

Facilities Management:

Oversee maintenance and repair of school facilities, including classrooms, playgrounds, cafeterias, renovations; serve as liaison with janitorial service provider and volunteers.

Human Resources:

  • Manage the hiring process for new staff members, including recruiting candidates and conducting background checks
  • Maintain personnel records; manage insurance enrollment, pension, disability, workers compensation and audit requests

Technology:

  • Ensure that technology equipment and systems are well-maintained.
  • Develop long range plan and budget for recommending purchasing technology to ensure the school maintains up-to-date, effective technology to support learning and school operations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
