• Plan, prepare and deliver effective and engaging instructional activities
• Use effective teaching strategies and best practices for assisting students through stages of second language acquisition (from pre-production through fluency)
• Create positive educational climate for students to learn in
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities, using the ISBE World Language Learning Standards.
• Provide regular feedback to students and evaluate students’ performance using standards-based assessments
• Collaborate with teachers to plan and direct field trips to enrich student understanding of the Spanish language and culture
• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals
• Create unit plans and modify accordingly throughout the year
• Post weekly lesson plans online
• Maintain online grade books on a weekly basis
• Manage student behavior by using consistent and effective classroom management strategies
• Communicate regularly with parents
• Participate in weekly professional development
• Uphold Christian character and values
• Participate in school-wide events
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications (Spanish Teacher): Current IL Teacher Licensure

• Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree in Education (preferred)
• Bachelor’s Degree - Spanish (preferred)
• Strong instructional skills, including oral and written communication

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
