• Plan, prepare and deliver effective and engaging music lessons to K - 8th grade students
• Create positive educational climate for students to learn in
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
• Provide regular feedback to students and evaluate students’ performance using standards-based assessments
• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals
• Create unit plans and modify accordingly throughout the year
• Create and deliver curriculum that integrates music with other classroom subjects and/or cultural themes
• Collaborate with teachers to plan and direct music-based field trips
• Post weekly lesson plans online
• Maintain online grade books on a weekly basis
• Manage student behavior by using consistent and effective classroom management strategies
• Communicate regularly with parents
• Participate in weekly professional development
• Uphold Christian character and values
• Participate in school-wide events
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Current IL Teacher Licensure

• Music Education Endorsement (preferred)

• Bachelor’s Degree (required); Master’s Degree in Education (preferred)

• Strong instructional skills, including oral and written communication

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
