A Day in the Life of a Transport Coordinator:

The Transport Coordinator acts as a liaison between Cheyenne Regional facilities, external facilities and the patients to ensure appropriate transfers. This position screens for medical necessity and ensures the correct transportation options are utilized. The Coordinator collaborates with the transfer center, nursing staff and social work to ensure timely transfers, optimal patient flow, and patient satisfaction.

Here Is What You Will Be Doing:

• Collaborates with Transfer Center, Social Workers, and nursing staff to identify transportation needs and appropriate designations.

• Manages incoming calls and appointment requests for Transport department.

• Facilitates timely scheduling and appropriate resources for each transfer.

• Monitors transfers of all appropriate designations.

• Adjusts staffing levels to facilitate patient flow with manager approval.

• Resolves patient concerns and complaints and/or escalates as appropriate.

• Participates in development and improvement of processes, information, and systems that facilitate efficient best practices for the Transport team.

• Promotes a positive, inclusive, and cooperative work environment by utilizing appropriate communications and team building across departmental lines.

• Working knowledge of IT, Epic and Rover systems and how they relate to the transfer processes

Here Is What You Will Need:

• High school diploma (or Equivalent Certificate from an accredited program) or higher degree

• One (1) or more years of job-related and/or clerical experience

• Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within 14 calendar days of start date

Nice to Have:

• EMT experience in a hospital or clinic setting
