WHAT YOU DO AND HOW YOU DO IT:
The Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Department of Social Services is seeking an experienced Administrative Manager who is a leader in the organization and responsible for providing leadership to a team that provides services to the department’s daily operations with administrative support, building operations, facilities maintenance, fleet management, Information Technology, and safety services. This position is responsible for leading the Department in business innovation and efficiency procedures that include overseeing and managing data security processes, data dashboards, data collection, benchmarking, and productivity reports to the executive leadership team, monthly, annually, and as requested. Leads the department in automation support for state and local applications, acquiring and oversight of hardware, and software for social service programs. Supports resources for the business needs of the Department. Facilitate projects related to information and data systems. Collaborates, communicates, and actively works with internal customers, vendors, county, and state partners to support the department’s Mission. 
 
While this position has a large information technology management function, it also includes management of the agency’s building operations, facilities maintenance, fleet, and safety protocols and procedures. You must have a working knowledge of principles and practices of business management to facilitate strategic planning, resource allocation and coordination of people and resources and be able to effectively conduct difficult analytical studies to identify problems, evaluate data, make recommendations, and develop/implement a plan of action for a variety of complex issues related to the overall operation of the department. Perform other work as required.
 
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, accounting, finance, or a related field; three years of increasingly responsible management, personnel, fiscal, planning, program evaluation or related analytical experience in the assigned area of responsibility to include two years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Excellent organizational, time management, oral/written communication, interpersonal, public relations, and supervisory skills required. Ability to demonstrate exceptional critical thinking, attention to details, process improvement skills, risk management, organizational management, communication skills (written and verbal), data analysis, data reporting, and decision-making skills. Computer competency required, MS Word, Outlook, Excel, etc. Exceptional ability to establish, collaborate, and achieve performance goals.
 
Current valid driver’s license and good driving record are required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required.
