About the Opportunity:
Chelsea Piers is seeking to hire a Hospitality Associate to join our Tennis team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering customer service in line with our Chelsea Piers Standards of Excellence. Primarily, you will be working at a front desk in one of our venues, assisting customers with questions, bookings, issues and directing them as needed. As a Hospitality Associate, you will gain a deep understanding of Chelsea Piers mission, values, programs and facility in an effort to provide customer satisfaction. The ideal Hospitality Associate will have excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills. This role reports to the Hospitality Manager and works closely with fellow Hospitality Associates and multiple managers throughout Chelsea Piers. In this role, you will have a chance to learn, grow and develop many of the skills necessary to start building a career, whether at Chelsea Piers or beyond.

As a Hospitality Associate you will be expected to:

• Deliver customer service in line with our Chelsea Piers Standards of Excellence
• Maintain a positive attitude and take initiative
• Maintain Chelsea Piers and brand knowledge
• Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
• Greet, assist, accommodate and escort all guests and visitors with a courteous and joyful nature
• Assist with projects, when needed, as directed by the Assistant Tennis Director or Hospitality Manager
• Maintain professional and courteous manner at all times
• Answer and direct phone calls appropriately, with proper phone etiquette
• Maintain a clean, organized desk area at all times
• Be aware of scheduled events/programming based on business need
• Must wear Chelsea Piers uniform and nametag at all times while working and follow all rules/regulations as set forth by the Employee Handbook

About You:
You are professional, punctual and personable. You are comfortable interfacing with customers and fellow employees email, phone and in person.

• 6 months of customer service or related experience, preferred
• Must be energetic and hard-working
• Team-player who works well with others
• Excellent communicator
• Friendly and professional phone etiquette
• Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Passionate about sports and fitness
• Community-minded
• Proactive problem solver
• Familiarity with Microsoft software programs, preferred
• Flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule ability to work on nights, weekends and holidays as needed
• Ability to perform physical aspects of position, including but not limited to standing for a full shift & lifting up to 30lbs at a time

Schedule: Part-Time, about 15 hours/week, varies based on business needs, weekend and evening shifts

Compensation: $16-$17/hour, depending on experience
