The Business Analyst, reporting to the Director of Business Analytics, will apply analytical skills to business challenges across Chartway. This position will work in a collaborative environment on a horizontal team supporting several business units who will value the insights and recommendations you will bring. This position will problem-solve through data while thoughtfully incorporating product dynamics, marketing influences, and a wide range of member impact into recommended solutions. Using rigorous analytical techniques, the qualified candidate will be able to extract and interpret complex data elements and in a refined manner communicate to inform and influence leaders across Chartway.
Responsible and Accountable for:

• Support Enterprise analytic efforts ongoing initiatives from a data and analytic perspective including: Membership Reporting and Forecasting; Data Quality Assurance (DQA); Regulatory/Audit reporting and analysis; Data/Analysis requests from the Finance Team; Data/Analysis requests from enterprise teams such as BSA/Fraud team, Compliance, HR
• Assuring analysis is validated and accurate reporting is delivered.
• Supporting initiatives by analyzing the performance of our Net Promoter Score and other Member Feedback sources and communicate recommendations for improvements to leadership.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis as needed.
• Develops necessary reporting using PowerBI and SQL coding tools and provides monthly metrics to show opportunities and trends.
• Assist management in establishing or enhancing the measurement of key performance indicators via new dashboards/scorecards.
• Support the development and maintain action-based reporting through analysis of data that delivers decision ready results.
• Works closely with various teams on projects to obtain necessary data, and track performance. Clearly articulates findings/observations and make recommendations as appropriate.
• Work closely with Data Engineering and Application Technology teams along with other organizational data experts to ensure validity and accuracy of data sources.
• Partner with necessary internal and external departments to import the Member Feedback data into Data Warehouse

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office; proficiency in Excel to include but not limited to lookups, creating tables, pivot tables, power query. Experience communicating using PowerPoint.
• Proficient in querying and validating data sets (writing query, join tables, extract data).
• Proficient in visually presenting data stories using data visualization tools (Power BI) with actionable insights.
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and think critically.
• Ability to be self-directed and demonstrate strong initiative.
• Analytic and problem-solving skills with the ability to build complex models and experience in forecasting which may include using Python and/or R for Modeling and Statistical analysis.
• Independently assists with projects related to operational processes and systems.
• Must be detail oriented and possess good analytical and organizational skills.
• Self-starter who is able to be hands-on and can analyze, interpret and derive insights into business reports, analytic models, and data sources.
• Ability to multi-task and be detail orientated in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be self-directed, work independently, and demonstrate strong initiative.
• Analytic and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner

Education and Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience in Business Analytics. Master’s in related field or related certifications encouraged.
• Experience: Analytical experience in a financial service environment; Proficient with querying data using SQL; able to independently access, retrieve, organize, and analyze data; able to perform peer SQL code review to ensure accuracy; Proficient with data visualization tools. Power BI (Tableau) experience preferred, but similar systems with transferrable skillsets are acceptable; Exposure to building analytical models and forecasting.
