Position Overview
The Project Accountant is responsible for assisting and supporting Project Managers and the entire project team with obtaining, evaluating, coordinating, and distributing the financial information needed to construct projects on time, within budget, safely, and with quality in partnership with the project team.
Primary Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, the PA must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and in a timely manner. The following duties are representative of the job but are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed.

- Follow all policies and procedures and ensure others do as well
- Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Working knowledge of Sage Accounting (300CRE / Intacct), Procore and other construction software used.
- In coordination with the Project Manager, produce, maintain, and assemble Subcontractor Schedule of Values (SOV) for project billings.
- Track the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Schedule of Values (SOV) for each Change Order Request (COR) and Subcontractor Change Order (SCO) ensuring subs provide the accurate breakout with COR pricing.
- Maintain the Sub Document Tracking Log, ensuring that we receive all pricing in a timely manner from subs and the COR’s are submitted in sequential order. Communicate the status weekly to the project team.
- Attend meetings related to pending Design Changes.
- Attend and manage the Weekly Change Management Meetings, both internal and external. Using both the Sub Document tracking Log, Design Tracking Log, and COR Logs – Ensuring they are up to date and maintained.
- Review each Sub’s Change Item Logs weekly, and that they are accurate and up to date – Ticket (T&M) work is verified weekly, cost allocated weekly and incorporated into SCO’s monthly.
- Ensuring Prime Contract Change Orders are issued monthly.
- General Conditions Tracker/Cash flow – Work with Project Manager to keep weekly records of GC spending and assist in keeping the Project Cash Flow up to date.
- Assist Project Manager in preparing Monthly Forecasts for the project.
- Review all incoming invoices and allocate them to the appropriate area of the project.
- Assist in drafting monthly billing to owner and assembling appropriate required backup for said billing.
Requirements for the position:
- Minimum 4 years’ construction related Accounting experience.
- Proficient in MS Office components (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Experience with Sage Financial Management tools preferred.
- Outstanding communication and time management skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
