Central Wire is Hiring an Industrial Electrical Technician Near Union, IL

Job Title: Industrial Electrician Technician Location: Union, IL Salary: Up to $45/hr. Depending on Experience Reports to: Maintenance Manager Department: Maintenance Position Overview: The Industrial Electrician will work as part of a team to install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in a manufacturing environment. This individual will have the ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications in order to provide troubleshooting and repair services. The Industrial Electrician will also routinely perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and components in order to ensure the continued safe, efficient, and effective operations of all equipment and fixtures utilized by the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilites:Ensure that safety policies, housekeeping rules and guidelines, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followedInstall, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and equipmentDesign, build, bench test and install electrical panelsRead and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications and schematics in order to effectively troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipmentDiagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipmentPerform preventative maintenance through inspection of electrical systems, equipment, and componentsMaintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance recordsTest electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixturesDirect and train other workers and apprentices to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixturesWork on other electrical projects as requiredEnsure all work performed adheres to all relevant organizational, state, and federal safety regulations, codes, and specificationsComplete all paperwork as requiredOther duties as assignedPosition Requirements:High school graduate or equivalent requiredCertified and Licensed Industrial ElectricianStrong knowledge of health and safety legislationDemonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specificationsMinimum 5 years' Industrial Electrician experience required with preference given to those with a background in a manufacturing environmentAbility to work independently in a busy environmentExperience with routine maintenance operationsAble to effectively communicate both verbally and in writingAble to work well under pressureStrong attention to detailKnowledge of safe operating proceduresSelf-starter, with developed analytical and troubleshooting skillsStrong work ethic and positive team attitudeValid drivers licenseCompetencies:Time managementPlanning and organizingProblem solvingDevelopment and continual learningAccountability and dependabilityDecision making and judgementOperating equipmentMathematical reasoningResearch and analysisEnforcing laws, rules, and regulations Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:Ability to lift 20-50 lbs frequentlyAbility to lift up to 70 lbs occasionally Continuous standingUse of hands and feet to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, controls, press buttons, levers and pedalsBending, twisting and reachingRepetitive movementFrequent walkingWear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, gloves and any other protective equipment deemed necessaryWork indoors in non-controlled environmental conditionsWork in hot conditions or cold temperaturesExposure to sounds and noise levels that can be distracting or uncomfortableExposure to minor cuts or burnsExposure to contaminantsExposure to hazardous equipmentWork with others in a group or teamOvertime may be requiredTravel may be required
