Job Title: Machine Operator Salary: $20/hr. - $22/hr. Reports to: Operations Manager Location: Union, IL Department: Operations Position Overview: Set-up, adjust and operate production machinery to anneal and electroplate various metal alloys and diameters. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operate annealing and electroplating machinery to produce quality product according to specific “Work Instructions”. Duties include but are not limited to the following:Read work orders/bill of materials to determine product specificationsResponsible for quantity and quality to meet efficiency ratesUse various types of equipment and machineryMaintain machinery during operationAdjust machinery including changing dies, speed, temperature, process gasses, etc.Reporting/communicating machinery issues to supervisor/maintenanceInspect products to ensure product excellence and quality using measuring tools (tape measure/micrometer/tensile test machine)Obtain all required approvalsLabel packagesUse of forklifts, cranes, and hand carts to load/unload machine and to move material to and from machinesRecord and document production as well as all downtimeEnsure and observe all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines, including carrying out daily safety inspections.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Participate in all assigned training, including monthly health and safety sessionsOperate forklifts safelyWork overtime as requiredOther duties as assignedPosition RequirementsHigh school graduate or equivalent preferredAbility to communicate – verbal and writtenAbility to perform basic math functions with accuracyForklift experience preferredBasic computer skills for data entry purposesAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to work independent with minimal supervisionConstant standing & walkingFrequent pushing, pulling, & reaching
