Central Indiana Corporate Partnership is Hiring a BioCrossroads - Senior Director of Innovation Near Indianapolis, IN

BIOCROSSROADS OVERVIEW:
BioCrossroads, the life sciences initiative of Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), ignites the continued growth of Indiana’s robust life sciences industry by activating the sector through strategic research and market knowledge, strengthening the substrate of the Indiana ecosystem with a focus on talent, companies and capital and cultivating the community by connecting and convening academic, corporate, and philanthropic partners.
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Senior Director, Innovation will work closely with the SVP/Chief Innovation Officer to develop and execute the innovation strategy that will elevate and support Indiana’s life sciences sector and BioCrossroads’ goals and objectives to grow the sector.
The life sciences sector contributes $95B to the state’s economy and employs 67,000 Hoosiers working at over 3,100 establishments across the state. The average annual wage of Indiana life sciences employees is almost double the average state wages. Although Indiana remains one of the top tier states for life sciences, as demonstrated in the biennial TEConomy/BIO state by state bioscience industry review, signs of stress are emerging that make it imperative that Indiana execute a strategy to address challenges and capture opportunities in order for the life sciences sector to continue to thrive. Fostering innovation in the sector is key for the continued growth of our state’s economy and to promote the health and well-being of our citizens.
However, for sector innovators such as university faculty, scientists, and new entrepreneurs with a desire to advance promising life sciences discoveries to patients, the complexity, cost, and long time-horizon, in combination with the attrition rate of product candidates, presents a truly daunting set of challenges to navigate. Yet, given the potential positive impact on the health and well-being of patients by successfully doing so, there is perhaps no more meaningful and worthy endeavor that merits support.
BioCrossroads is well-positioned to catalyze Indiana’s contribution to this endeavor to unlock the state’s life sciences assets to positively impact human health through innovation thereby enabling a thriving innovation ecosystem in the life sciences in Indiana and this role would be at the forefront of these efforts. The Senior Director of Innovation will investigate, coordinate, implement and evaluate BioCrossroads programs to anticipate, respond to and reflect the life sciences sector of the future. They will play a leadership role in maintaining awareness of potential sector disruptors and trends and understand the economic impact on Indiana’s economy while serving as an advocate who appreciates the opportunities and complexities involved in life sciences innovation.
BioCrossroads’ initiatives are highly complex and deeply impactful for the state, requiring partnership with many stakeholders in the public, industrial, philanthropic, non-profit, and academic sectors who are focused on life sciences. This position must be able to work across diverse teams to develop strategies and drive execution.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
