The job summary and description – What’s expected of you?

Cenikor is a non-profit organization and one of the largest substance use treatment centers in the nation. We are currently seeking a Full time Recovery Support and Alumni Specialist for our facility in Corpus Christi, Texas. SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

JOB SUMMARY:

The Recovery Support and Alumni Specialist will work with the Recovery Support team, Business Development team, and facility leadership to ensure appropriate relationships are built and maintained with Cenikor program participants. Follow-up documentation is obtained and entered into electronic healthcare system or other database (e.g., Salesforce CRM) as necessary. This position is responsible for supporting all Cenikor program participants on their sobriety by providing clients with information on services that will help them in their recovery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Facilitate groups in which participants help each other face challenges, such as stigmatization, discrimination, and misunderstanding in the community and at times including family members.
2. Identify personal strengths, interest, social relationships, hope for the future, and sources of well-being, as well as learn new knowledge and skills that can support their recovery journey.
3. Conduct follow up phone calls and maintain follow up outcomes through client contact and documentation while maintaining strict confidentiality on all client & Cenikor matters.
4. Work closely with the all areas of Business Development on a weekly basis with documenting follow-up information as per our contracts.
5. Document all follow-up information into the appropriate electronic healthcare system to create/update client records. Ensure documentation is concise, thorough, and accurate.
6. Assist Recovery Support participants to become more comfortable with self-advocacy, and learn how to find community opportunities, resources, and destinations that match their own interest and hopes for the future.
7. Provide recovery check-ups with individuals who have transitioned from the service setting into the community.
8. Support individuals in developing comprehensive Recovery Wellness plans while identifying, building, and strengthening their relationships with recovery allies.
9. Serve as a role model who shares personal strengths and skills with alumni and Recovery Support participants.
10. Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of all alumni and recovery support events within their assigned region, assisting other regions as required.
11. Assertively and proactively connect participants to relevant community resources they may seek opportunities to build new relationships.
12. Assist people in identifying and connecting with the support opportunities and services that will help them sustain their wellness and long-term recovery.
13. Work closely with management team to uphold the core principles of Cenikor’s culture and create a positive working environment for all team members.
14. Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the non-exempt functions as assigned in this job description.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Skilled in effective communication and customer service
• Excellent listening and phone presentation skills
• Excellent time management skills to meet aggressive deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required, including MS Outlook calendar.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required

Experience:

• Minimum one year related experience working in group with individuals in recovery required
• Experience in prevention/substance abuse field preferred

Licensure Required:

• Must have RSPS certification or be willing to successfully complete such certification within the first 3 months of Cenikor employment in this role required
• Valid Driver’s License required
