Community Bridges is one of the largest providers of substance abuse/behavioral health treatment in Arizona. We are looking for a Peer Support Specialist (PSS) for Crisis/Detox Services at our East Valley location.
The Peer Support Specialist provides experience, strength, and hope to individuals, their families, and significant others presenting to the Crisis/Detox facility for care so as to minimize the emotional impact of crisis and/or detox admission, to minimize the likelihood of continued AOD use, along with the likelihood of continued care once discharged. A Peer Support Specialist also assists in the transition to the most appropriate level of care available in conjunction with the established treatment team, which includes ensuring the coordination of care with all those parties who are currently involved in the patient’s case, ensuring that family and other social supports identified in the patient’s treatment plan are involved in the discharge planning process. The Peer Support Specialist works in conjunction as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
The PSS-Crisis Services is an individual who is in recovery from AOD use and/or GMH for an appropriate period of time (greater than or equal to 1 year) and has a Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Six weeks of behavioral health work experience or receives six weeks of continuous onsite direction from a behavioral health professional, a behavioral health technician, or a behavioral health paraprofessional who has at least six months of behavioral health work experience.
