This position is lcoated at David's Harp in SE Portland, Parkrose area. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Essential Function
The Program Supervisor I is responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of David’s Harp, a day program for adults experiencing severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI). This position would provide direct care in the same manner as other line staff as well as provide direct supervision. This position involves staff supervision, program operation, and clinical oversight of individuals with severe mental illness provided within a Trauma Informed Care environment. There will be a need for close collaboration with the Program Manager related to issues that are pertinent to the operation of the program such as data collection for grants with other vendors, and collaboration with volunteers and Board members.

Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor’s Degree in a behavioral science field from an accredited college or university or three years of full time professional experience working with adults with severe mental illness. Demonstrated competency to become credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) as outlined in the Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR). Certification must be kept current and in compliance with the OAR’s.
A degree and/or credentialing in art, music, dance, or recreational therapy is preferred
Experience:
Three years of clinical experience providing inpatient or outpatient services is preferred.
A minimum of one year of supervisory experience is a plus.

Other:
Possess a valid driver’s license, three year driving history; clean driving record, ability to pass Driver Motor Vehicle (DMV) check and complete the Cascadia online Defensive Driving course.
Must have the ability to commute to various Cascadia sites and community locations as needed.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in a day treatment milieu in Parkrose, East Portland. The physical environment supports the mission of the program: space for community meetings, area for creative arts (music and art therapy), a kitchen for meals and skills building as well as large group rooms for social skill building treatment and events. The office is shared with other staff including those under the Program Supervisor’s supervision. Work hours are currently Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5pm. The position will require someone who is able to drive the program van and may also require travel during business hours to other Cascadia sites as well as community locations.
Daily routines can be hectic and may require that Employee to perform various functions of the site as needed. Meal periods and breaks are subject to interruption. Universal Precautions and remaining alert to the environment are critical to address the potential for violent behavior, exposure to disease, biohazards, noise and contaminants.
Mental Demands:
The work assigned is diverse and involves addressing new and unusual circumstances in which outcomes may negatively affect costs, employee morale or clients. The work regularly involves a degree of unpredictability and disruption of planned tasks requiring a flexible time management approach. There will be a need for a consistency, creativity, and ability to stay calm.
Physical Demands:
Activities and structure support community integration and assist program clients in learning socially acceptable behaviors. The Program Supervisor must have the ability to assist the members in participating in a variety of active leisure and recreational events, as well as skill building outings and accessing community resources. The employee must have the ability to assist the team in providing safety to all individuals and staff in potentially volatile situations.
