Our mission is to empower individuals and families to recover from addiction, trauma, mental illness, and other chronic medical conditions; overcome homelessness and discrimination; and achieve health and wellness through comprehensive, integrated care. About the role

Casa Esperanza seeks an ambitious detail-oriented individual with excellent writing skills to create compelling grant applications to foundation, government and corporate funders, and assist with developing individual giving for our growing organization. The Grant Writer will be responsible for writing grants and supporting implementation of a robust and strategic Grant Development Plan that supports expanding programs and increasing revenue. Major responsibilities include researching and identifying grant prospects; writing proposals; creating and tracking requirements, deliverables, and deadlines to ensure they are completed on time. Although the Grant Writer must work independently to fulfill the responsibilities of the job, he/she must also work collaboratively, in a teamwork spirit, with all members of Casa's Development Team. This position is primarily remote; however, the candidate must be available for in-person funder site visits and other events as needed.

What you"ll do

Responsibilities include researching funders, writing compelling applications with the most relevant data and stories, managing deadlines, and reporting impact for the grants are awarded. You will work with the Development team to create a variety of communications, marketing, public relations, social media, and leadership deliverables that help tell the Casa story. To ensure success, you will need top-notch writing skills, be a natural relationship builder, and have a genuine passion for social justice, health equity, and culturally tailored programming. If you are also an organized, deadline- driven team player with outstanding multitasking abilities, you will be a top candidate.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources, including capital and operating.

Conduct thorough research to understand the eligibility criteria and requirements of each grant.

Lead process for writing and submitting proposals for local, state, federal, contracts in accordance with each funder"s guidelines.

Coordinate with internal teams to compile all necessary documentation and supporting materials.

Establish timelines to complete the collection of relevant data/information for proposal content, internal routing and approvals, and submission to funding sources.

Work with Development Team to manage and steward relationships with foundations, associations, and other funders, as directed.

Manage a grants calendar that captures deadlines and includes a schedule for prospecting, writing and submitting proposals, and preparing impact reports

Collaborate with finance and project teams to provide accurate financial and programmatic reports.

Work with internal teams to arrange onsite tours for supporters (foundation officers, foundation trustees), as needed.

Standardize our grants approach by developing and using effective templates, creating consistency in our data and language, and building a powerful set of stories and impact examples

Prepare monthly reports on status of grants to be shared with Agency leadership, staff, and Board

Write content for annual reports, lobbying efforts, website and other reports, as required.

Update?and maintain system to capture donor and funder information, engagement,?and?giving history using Little Green Light?CRM, Constant Contact email marketing, and other tools for donor management and cultivation.???

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, Business or similar degree focus.

Impeccable writing, editing and verbal communication skills.

Ability and comfort in interpreting data and synthesizing research in order to demonstrate need for non-profit interventions.

Strong attention to detail, tact, and understanding of complex systems and relationships.

Strong knowledge of tactics and techniques for raising money.

Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a sense of humor.

Ability to work independently within an active treatment environment.

Proven fundraising track record and 3-5 years" experience in grant writing and major donor. development within a behavioral health or medical health care environment.

Experience writing and coordinating grant writing process for federal and state contracts.

An ability to work seamlessly in a cross-functional, highly collaborative team with interconnected job responsibilities.

Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and operate on tight deadlines.

Understanding of addictions recovery, mental health services, and/or primary medical care business models.

Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Database experience a plus; experience conducting web research and internet proficiency required.

Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and operate on tight deadlines.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
