Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will be the controller of our accounting operations, maintaining internal controls, overseeing general ledger, AP/AR and inventory management.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Maintain internal controls and oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and inventory management.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and coordinates the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare lender covenant compliance and reporting.
  • Manage cash flow through review of customer credit worthiness and collections: cash disbursements, and daily banking review.
  • Prepare annual budget and periodic reforecasts thorough collaboration with sales, brand and operational teams.
  • Preparation of year-end reporting for audit and tax returns and primary contact for financial audit process with top tier audit firm.
  • Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity. 
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis of the company’s finances and presents findings to executive leadership for decision making and planning.
  • Power user for our ERP system.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SUCCESS FACTOR SNAPSHOT:

First 30 days

  • Develop a deep understanding of our organization, finances, mission, culture, team, products, and role expectations.
  • Review and understand the month end financial statement close.
  • Become familiar with Epicor ERP system.

First 60 days

  • Establish understanding of accounting processes including accounts payable and receivable
  • Establish understanding of shipping/receiving and cycle counts.

First 90 days

  • Become proficient in month end financial statement preparation and reporting.
  • Support the collection of data to understand our standard cost system and its impact on financial reporting.

First 120 days

  • Support implementation of AP process automation.
  • Begin preparation of annual operating plan.

First 6 months

  • Prepare audit workpapers and assist with any related inquiries.

Ongoing

  • Continuously improve processes to strive towards a world class organization.
  • Monitor internal controls to ensure safeguard of company assets and GAAP compliance.
  • Become fully versed with the ERP system to support cross-functional teams in maximizing system capabilities.
  • Report issues with regards to the food safety/quality assurance system (FSQA) to Leadership and adhere to the requirements of the FSQA standards.

Requirements

Background check, credit check, pre-employment drug screen and industry non-compete are required. Position resides at our corporate office in Green Bay, WI. No relocation package available.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or relevant field from an accredited university required

Experience: 

  • CPA license required.
  • Experience in public accounting and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with private equity backed company preferred.
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge required.
  • Working knowledge of Epicor ERP a plus.
  • This position is a frontline, hands-on, working manager role.
  • Food and/or meat industry experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for working with cross-functional teams
