POSITION SUMMARY:
This position assists staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems. The employee in this position also assists in the maintenance and testing of network servers and associated equipment. The position’s responsibilities require independent analyses, communication and problem solving. Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future desktop hardware needs
Assesses functional needs to determine specifications for purchases.
Assists in maintaining LAN/WAN records and, as appropriate, telephone systems cable.
Investigates system problems and provides solutions using specific product knowledge, system utilities, and operating environment.
Identifies system problems. Performs necessary system repairs.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) in MIS and/or 2 years technical school and 2 years related experience in a corporate support environment or a combination of experience and education in related field.

Computer Skills:
Advanced knowledge of LAN connectivity
Advanced knowledge of desktop hardware and common desktop software
Advanced knowledge of Windows 7/8 and Server 2003/07/10
MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) & A certification highly preferred
