Cigar’s Material Handler

Department: Warehouse (Cigars) Department Job Status: Full Time

FLSA Status: Exempt Reports To: Warehouse Lead / Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience utilizing machinery of some type. Sets up and operates a production machine by established procedures and guidelines. Uses computer-controlled equipment to select positions and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete routine tasks according to specifications.

PRIMARY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

1. Responsible for reading purchase orders to ascertain sizes and quantities of merchandise.
2. Responsible for cleaning and organizing assigned areas to maintain the organization of the warehouse.
3. Receive all purchase orders in the warehouse using a forklift or proper equipment.
4. Responsible for loading and offloading containers.
5. Responsible for lifting merchandise cases and setting them on pallets to put away.
6. Responsible for Assisting the drivers as needed to provide faster loading and offloading of trucks/containers.
7. Responsible for cleaning and maintaining proper care of forklifts by checking water levels of batteries to preserve equipment life and prevent costly repairs.
8. Responsible for the documentation of purchase orders received to maintain accurate inventory.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
3. May require 0-1 year of general work experience utilizing machinery of some type.
4. Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and flexible shifts as required.
5. Ability to influence and direct other people
