Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. This individual must be a results-driven person who takes initiative, thrives in a fast-paced environment, is a team player, and has a positive attitude. Reporting to the Controller to start, this person will be involved in virtually all day-to-day accounting activities in the company, with a heavy on focus on revenue, including contract review, business partnering, SKU launches, revenue recognition/ASC 606, and other back-end and GL accounting responsibilities. The Senior Accountant will be a key player in continuing to build our accounting team, improving processes, establishing operation procedures, and implementing systems. A successful candidate will have a high sense of urgency, ownership, and the ability to deliver high quality work.
Requirements
What we expect of you / qualifications:
• BA in accounting
• CPA
• 4 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years of public accounting experience with a large audit firm
• Proven experience with ASC 606 in a subscription business (preferably software)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow process, prioritize work and meet tight deadlines
• Advanced Excel skills. This role is data intensive and candidates must have experience with, and interest in, analyzing and merging large sets of data from multiple systems. X-Lookup, Sum-if Pivot Table and other advanced Excel knowledge is required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide business explanations for balance flux, trends etc
• Ability to clearly and concisely document and effectively communicate complex accounting and reporting issues to finance and non-finance personnel
• Detail orientated while also having the ability to take a step back and see the big picture
• Excellent interpersonal skills, detail orientated with a high level of ethics and integrity
• Experience implementing accounting software and/or subscription management system is a plus
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite a plus)
Job responsibilities:
• Own the monthly revenue close process, ensuring proper accounting treatment and preparing revenue flux analysis, deferred revenue schedules, reconciliations and preparing related journal entries with proper backup to substantiate entries
• Own additional portions of our month end close process, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, variance analyses, and XYZ
• Work closely with the Order Processing Team to ensure compliance with internal policies, subscription management and accounting guidelines, including reviewing contracts to assess proper revenue recognition treatment
• Support the company’s year-end audit with a heavy focus on revenue and ASC 606
• Create, improve, and maintain processes, standard operating procedures, and internal controls
• Collaborate cross-functionally to introduce, implement, and improve automation and business systems

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with job posting disclosure requirements.
Pay range: $85,000 - $100,000 . Actual base pay will depend on varying circumstances, including the position, location, individual qualifications, market finances, and other operations business needs.
Depending on the position, compensation may also include commission, bonuses, etc. Potential for bonuses is based on company performance and potential for merit increases is based on performance.
