PAY RANGE
$64,000 - $83,000 Annual Salary - Pay based on applicable experience and qualifications
POSITION OVERVIEW
This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Equity and Inclusion. The MidPen Housing DEIB Engagement Manager role is ideal for a proactive and experienced individual who thrives in community engagement and project management. This position plays a crucial role in advancing the organization's DEIB initiatives across various departments and external partners. Responsibilities include fostering diverse stakeholder engagement, managing projects, and supporting initiatives aligned with the following DEIB strategic areas: Communication & Engagement, Leadership and Culture, Resident Communities, Retention & Talent Acquisition. Key functions involve driving supplier diversity, facilitating stakeholder sessions, analyzing community outreach outcomes, coordinating employee resource groups, and maintaining relationships with traditionally underrepresented community organizations. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, project management expertise, and a commitment to DEIB principles, ensuring effective implementation and evaluation of programs and interventions aimed at fostering an inclusive organizational culture and impact.
Hybrid Position:
In office 2 days a week
Office Locations: (Coastal, East Bay, Union City, Foster City, North Bay)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Coordinatate MidPens participation in external community events. ex. Black Joy Parade, supplier diversity event, Pride Parade, etc.
Cultivate strategic partnerships with community organizations, to advance MidPens goal of practicing values in our daily work with residents and in communities
Develop methodologies for tracking and reporting outreach progress, liaising between relevant parties for development of procedural and implementation plans
Provide ongoing guidance and support for ERG development and engagement
Develop comprehensive project work plans and timelines, fostering team transparency and capturing insights for continuous improvement
Actively engage in community events, facilitating discussions, and ensuring effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
Provide strategic advice and guidance to teams on infusing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) principles into project development
Ongoing advancement of translation and inclusive language policy processes. Including collaboration with translators for multilingual communications and craft comprehensive outreach plans to promote programs and services effectively
Drive successful delivery of community outreach projects, managing stakeholders and resources across a diverse portfolio
Coordinate with internal resources and external vendors to drive goals around values contracting
Assist on organizational projects and lead proposals for future endeavors, leveraging existing networks for expansion
Perform other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience
Three (3) years of project or program management, community engagement, and volunteer management experience with a minimum of one (1) year Affordable Housing knowledge (professional or lived experience)
Minimum of three (3) years of diverse stakeholder engagement and project management experience and minimum two-year degree with relevant professional certificates/certifications DEI, change management, Business Intelligence, Project Management, or supplier diversity or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Prior community outreach and engagement-related experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven track record in successfully managing both large-scale, long-term projects and fast-paced, short-term assignments.
Proficient in navigating ambiguity and adapting to evolving environments
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
Proficiency in process improvement and project management methodologies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Sheets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Advanced time management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Skilled in Microsoft Office 365, Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets
Effective communication with diverse stakeholders
Experience in community outreach, engagement, and consensus-building
Ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines and collaborate across teams
Familiarity with project management tools and frameworks
Experience managing programs with multiple team members and deliverables
Cultural agility and ability to engage in diverse group discussions
Self-guided with minimal supervision and handling of confidentiality
Adaptability to changing work demands and priorities
Comfort challenging the status quo with high emotional intelligence
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Sheets
Must possess a valid California drivers license, reliable transportation, and proof of current auto insurance policy
Physical Requirements
