POSITION TITLE: Technical Assistant for Career Technical Education REPORTS TO: Director of Career Technical Education BEGINNING DATE: Open Until Filled

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

* Proficient in the use of computers and the ability to use a variety of computer applications software such as Microsoft Office Suite

* Considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures

* Excellent grammar, vocabulary, spelling, punctuation and proofreading skills

* Ability to compose, compile and summarize information

* Ability to efficiently gather and analyze data

* Ability to prioritize and schedule variable tasks

* Ability to exercise good judgment, take initiative and work with minimal supervision

* Strong verbal/written communication skills in English

* Ability to interact and communicate with staff and the public

* Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations

* Ability to be flexible and work well with others

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

* Minimum of a two-year degree and one year of related work experience

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months

SALARY: Salary Grade TA56

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform usual office routines and practices associated with a busy and productive office.

* Operate microcomputer, scanner, copier, fax machine, and printer.

* Prepare general correspondence, memos, reports, and newsletters as directed.

* Receive and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence.

* Maintain records as directed.

* Maintain personnel file for Career Technical Education teachers.

* Maintain up-to-date vendor catalog file.

* Assist coordinators and secretary/treasurer as needed.

* Assist with Career Technical Education testing process.

* Assist with scanning/scoring and maintaining Career and Technical Education State Assessments.

* Deliver and retrieve equipment.

* Participate in training deemed appropriate for the position.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* The ability to be physically active, which includes, but is not limited to, standing, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, sitting and walking.

* Ability to reach with hands and arms routinely.

* Ability to operate technology for prolonged periods of time.

* Ability to carry furniture such as tables and chairs, supplies and materials

* Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and drive delivery vehicle (station wagon, van and/or truck) to a variety of sites.

* Must be able to visually and auditorily effectively communicate with staff and students.
