Seward County Community College is Hiring a VP of Career and Technical Education Near Liberal, KS

Seward County Community College is a two-year institution offering 45 programs of study, including Adult
Basic Education, certificate programs and Associate of Arts, Science, General Studies and Applied Sciences
degrees. Ranked in the top 5% of more than 1,100 accredited community colleges in the U.S. by the Aspen
Institute, SCCC serves a student body of 2,500 students ranging in age from 15 to 85, in a county with
the highest foreign-born percentage population in the U.S., and a rural service area of about 50,997 in
seven Southwest Kansas counties as well as neighboring counties in southeastern Colorado, the Oklahoma
and Texas Panhandles.
Responsibilities
Provides supervision of assigned faculty and classified staff in the industrial technology division;
manages curriculum and monitors budget and facilities. Participates in the development and
implementation of college policy; recommends and implements activities and actions which foster
instructional excellence within a safe and effective working environment; represents the administration
to staff members and staff members to the administration; and represents the college to the public and
industry. Employment is based on 248 days in a
fiscal year.

  • Facilitate the achievement of academic, workforce, and continuous quality improvement
priorities established through the strategic planning process. Develop and implement activities
both strategic and operational.
  • Assess the quality of academic programs and academic affairs operations. Facilitate changes in
academic programming, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with college constituents to identify goals, strategies, and metrics to achieve desired
organization results in areas of student learning, retention, completion, and satisfactory student
progress. Provide leadership for institutional committees and teams impacting instruction,
student learning, accreditation, compliance, strategic planning, institutional effectiveness, and
institutional research.
  • Provide leadership in and a commitment to collaboration and partnerships such as concurrent
enrollment, articulation agreements, business and industry partnerships, including partnerships
with K-12 and other higher education institutions.
  • Facilitate budget development and management for academic programs, support areas, adult
education, research and assessment, business and industry, and grants.
  • Provide supervision and mentoring for the Division Chairs for Allied Health and Industrial
Technology.

Qualifications
Master's degree in administration preferred; Doctorate degree is preferred.
At least ten years of similar or related experience.
