Cardinal Hayes High School is Hiring a High School Science Teacher Near Bronx, NY

For over 80 years, Cardinal Hayes High School has been working as a college-preparatory institution to educate young men of the New York City metropolitan area, encouraging the development and expression of their unique talents to prepare students for post-secondary education and life. Our legacy of success in helping our young men achieve extraordinary things in college and beyond is well-documented, with tremendous 4-year graduation and college-placement rates serving as the norm, rather than exceptions to the general rule. More importantly for us, however, encouraging students to achieve the high standard of becoming "Hayesmen" over the course of their four years at the "Hayes House" is the passion of a dedicated community of faculty, staff, administration, trustees, alumni, parents/guardians, and students. We invite you to apply to join this focused community as a teacher of Biology, Earth Science, and/or Chemistry for the school year 2024-2025.

We are seeking candidates with passion for science and for creating rigorous, high-expectation, supportive, and welcoming classroom cultures. While prior teaching experience and subject-area certification are important to us, we also enthusiastically welcome uncertified teachers at the very beginnings of their careers to apply. Enthusiasm, energy, resiliency, patience, intelligence, and dedication are far more important to us than are prior experience and certification.

Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree and be fully authorized to work in the United States for any employer in order to have their applications considered. They should also be aware that they must submit to a background check prior to having employment confirmed.

We invite you to email a cover letter, resume, and list of references if you are interested in applying for this position to kkeelin@cardinalhayes.org. Applicants under consideration will be contacted by email or phone in order to set up virtual interviews.

Cardinal Hayes High School is an equal opportunity employer and actively encourages applications from people of all backgrounds. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and certification. Cardinal Hayes High School offers a full benefits program and opportunities for professional growth.

We look forward to reviewing your application materials and thank you for your interest in Cardinal Hayes High School.
