Canggio Restaurant in Norwich, CT is looking for one sous chef to join our 11 person strong team. We are located on 20 Lafayette St. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and reliable.

Looking for an experienced cook looking grow with a new restaurant serving Peruvian American cuisine in a casual but classy atmosphere.

It is an open kitchen so you will be seen and heard, professionalism and hygiene are imperative.

Must have experience in a fast-paced kitchen prepping food, and making sauces.

Responsibilities

• Create new dishes and menus in accordance with business needs
• Anticipate ingredient needs and arrange re-stock accordingly
• Ensure a productive kitchen flow that upholds business standards
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
• Chop vegetables, prepare sauces and other food preparation.
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory

Qualifications

• Experience working as a sous chef or lead cook no less than 5 years
• High familiarity with kitchen equipment, processes, and health and safety guidelines
• Able to delegate tasks effectively and assist when needed
• Adaptable to high traffic and kitchen volume
