Building Automation Project Manager – HVAC

Location: Prince Frederick, Maryland

POSITION OVERVIEW The Controls Project Manager is a critical player in the Calvert Operations team, and responsible for overseeing and managing the administrative and logistics aspects of projects. The professional will have responsibilities that span across the Calvert Operation and cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of projects on time, on budget, and with highest level of quality. The professional shall deliver on hers/his responsibilities in alignment with the direction set by the Director of Program Management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Build, establish and manage operational processes and rigor to efficiently manage projects.
  • Responsible for building, managing, and maintaining a master Project tracker and Project Pipeline (i.e., using BuildOps & Microsoft Project).
  • Manage, Oversee, Direct and Work directly with Assistant Project Managers to help implement project / job goals.
  • Ensure delivery of projects on time and on budget, by proactively aligning all resources needed and communicating with cross-functional teams.
  • Responsible for managing all administrative aspects of a project, ensuring the accuracy of plans and documentation.
  • Responsible for coordinating the right material and labor are being allocated to each project.
  • Be an active team player in the organization, actively communicating and connecting the interdependencies across his/her peer groups (Operations, Finance, Administrative, and Sales)
  • Assist APMs in Producing & Transmitting Submittals.
  • Assist APMs in Producing and Updating submittal logs.
  • Assist APMs Producing and Updating RFIs.
  • Assist APMs Producing & Transmitting IOM manuals.
  • Direct and Complete Project / Job Kick-off Meeting.
  • Direct and Complete Project / Job Postmortem Meetings.
  • Assist APMs in billing (to include AIA Forms)
  • Assist APMs in coordinating final job site visits to hand off to other company departments-cross sell.
  • Constantly communicate with the customer – and all involved with the project or job.
  • Responsible for reporting, managing, and delivering on Operations team KPIs (Metrics) as defined for this role
  • Work closely with the Financial Department to keep them updated on Project / Job Fade, Monthly WIPs and Month End Close
  • Responsible for fostering, growing, and cultivating the Calvert culture
  • Timely and consistently provide the Operations Director with information and insights vital to the decision-making process
  • Managed projects and Quoted Jobs ranging from $5,000-$5,000,000.
  • All Other Duties Assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimal of 5 years of proven and successful experience in the industry
  • Verifiable leadership experience and capabilities, with past successful project execution
  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively to ensure successful project execution.
  • Working knowledge of necessary industry-related tools & equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Understanding of the construction & service mindset
  • Experience with computer operating systems, such as MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Publisher, MS Planner, MS Teams, MS Schedule, Dropbox, PDF forms & creator
  • Proven ability to generate and deliver reports that provide useful insight into project details.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a passion for ensuring projects proceed efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-paced project environment
  • Understanding of accounting functions and systems
  • Experience with cost control including project estimating, forecasting and cost management including reporting
  • Construction experience with an ability to maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions in a construction environment

Licensing/Certification: Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record. OSHA Training courses as required by the company safety procedures.
