Basic Function:
Under the direction of the Assessment Director, the Administrative Assistant for Data and Credential Support performs a broad range of administrative assistance functions in support of the Graduate School of Education. The incumbent is responsible for various functions of data collection, maintenance and reporting. This position will work directly with the Assessment Director and Credential Analyst to support data collection for evaluation and reporting of teacher, counselor and leadership preparation programs in the Graduate School of Education.
Representative Duties:
Supports the Assessment Director and Credential Analyst to run data reports as needed for accreditation purposes. E
Monitors, supports and manages data within software environment. E
Generates reports at the end of each term to ensure grades and evaluations have been entered into learning assessment system. Provides those reports to the Assessment Director and Credential Analyst as needed. E
Supports faculty regarding Learning Management Systems and other technical needs. E
Performs a variety of clerical and administrative support duties. E
Attends professional development training as requested. E
Performs related duties as assigned. E
E= Essential Duties
Knowledge Of:
Basic understanding of statistics and measurement
Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment
Record-keeping, filing, and information organizing techniques
Word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and other relevant software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary
Public relations and customer service techniques
Ability To:
Perform administrative support and clerical duties
Demonstrate interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
Operate a computer to enter data, maintain records and conduct word processing
Coordinate, organize, and oversee office activities
Type, keyboard, and/or enter data at a speed necessary for successful job performance
Maintain spreadsheets and files with minimal errors
Compose correspondence and written materials
Prepare reports by gathering and organizing data from a variety of sources
Work effectively with diverse communities
Work confidentially with discretion
Meet schedules and deadlines by prioritizing work
Make arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Learn policies, procedures and regulations and apply to specific situations
Determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Identify policies or procedures that are ineffective and develop new policies and procedures to enhance program or office operations
Work effectively with frequent interruptions
Understand and follow oral and written directions
Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination equivalent to: two years of college-level coursework and two years of administrative support with database management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience as an administrative assistant/data specialist in a non-profit, corporate, higher education
Prior experience in statistical analysis of data and development of analytical reports

Detect to understand appropriate written correspondence; operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer; communicate to exchange information in person, in writing, on the telephone and by email; stationary position for extended periods of time; move or transport light objects; position self to store and/or retrieve files
Working Environment:
Busy office environment; subject to frequent interruptions.
Hiring Range $19.00/hour to $19.50/hour
