Communications Coordinator and Copywriter
Caliber Financial Services is looking for a creative marketing professional with excellent writing and research skills to be our full-time, in-house Communications Coordinator and Copywriting lead. Reporting to the Director of Creative and Content, you will write, edit and proof content for a variety of projects (including print, web, mobile, audio/video, email campaigns and internal communications), working closely with channel managers and design teams to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, and articulate messaging. You’ll use your understanding of Caliber’s voice, tone, mission and goals to maximize customer engagement and increase overall conversion.

Raise the bar continually for writing fresh copy that connects with a desired audience and drives action
Be adept at adhering to established guidelines, including voice, tone, style and other brand characteristics for consistent brand messaging
Remain proactive in seeking knowledge of latest communications technologies, industry trends and competitive analysis to ensure relevancy and maximize impact to market
Learn, understand and utilize compliance-based, industry regulations and terminology when crafting content
Be the lead content creator and communications platform manager for all enterprise level, internal comms
Responsibilities
Interpret creative briefs to develop concepts for execution
Write original copy, edit and proof content for a range of marketing and communications materials, both customer facing and at the company enterprise level
Monitor the progress of ongoing marketing campaigns to identify top-performing pages, posts, and emails and apply the best practices to future campaigns
Collaborate with a team of channel managers and creative staff, from concept development to delivery of final product
Develop and execute initiatives to enhance employee engagement, including surveys, feedback mechanisms, and events
Develop and implement communication plans for handling internal crises or sensitive issues.
Assist senior leaders in crafting and delivering internal messages, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
Revise copy based on feedback
Required skills and qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Journalism, English, Communications, or related discipline
Four or more years of professional communications and copywriting experience working in digital marketing, a creative agency or similar environment. Must have a solid portfolio of work.
Exceptional writing and research skills
Experience with Asana, Podio, FreshService or other project task/management platforms is a plus
Problem-solver with the ability to anticipate needs
Ability to work independently or with a team to meet deadlines
Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability
Proofreading experience and familiarity with standard style guides
Experience with content management systems
Keen eye for detail and appreciation of great design
Willingness to take feedback into account and improve further
Use SEO principles to maximize copy’s reach
Source images and other content when needed

This is a hybrid position. Candidates MUST reside in the Kansas City Metro area in order to be considered. No exceptions. This role is required to be in the office Tues-Thurs on a weekly basis.
