CALA Alliance - Executive Director

CALA Alliance (Celebración Artística de las Américas) is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and impact.

The Organization:
CALA Alliance was established in 2010 with a mission to celebrate the richness and depth of Latinx artistic talent in Arizona, and to strengthen connections to Latin
America through arts and culture. CALA Alliance partners with artists and arts organizations to nurture artistic talent, focusing on artists from the Latin American diaspora. The organization advances its mission through innovative artist residencies, artist commissions, community workshops, and public programming that position the Metro Phoenix region as a fruitful site that acknowledges and contributes to the promotion of Latinx art throughout the United States.

CALA Alliance envisions a cultural landscape that values the creative and artistic contributions of Latinxs in the United States, understanding that these histories are integral to the cultural fabric of this country. They are dedicated to inspiring and educating Arizonans about the richness of artistic talent in our local community and across the nation.

The Opportunity:
The Executive Director will possess a combination of business acumen, nonprofit management expertise, and a proven track record in fundraising. This individual will be a collaborative and strategic leader, passionate about arts and culture, particularly within the LatinX community.

What the Executive Director Does:
● Provide effective organizational leadership and vision with a focus on achieving its mission, driving financial results and programmatic growth for long-term sustainability.

● Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with the Board of Directors through effective communication with sponsors, Board Members, artists, and constituents.

● Lead fundraising and development strategies and programs for sustained financial growth, including grant writing and cultivating donor relationships.

● Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization, including marketing initiatives and hiring and managing staff to support the organizational goals.

● Establish community presence and actively network and engage with arts organizations, both large and small, to nurture effective partnerships to enhance the organization's impact.

Requirements:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Fine Arts, Museum Studies, or a related field. A combination of education and/or relevant work experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
● At least three (3) years of nonprofit management, including business acumen and financial sustainability.
● At least three (3) years of demonstrated success in fundraising, including grant writing and donor relations.
● A visionary thinker with a collaborative leadership style with excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to execute long-term missions.

Applicants will strengthen their credentials with:
● Experience in an Executive Director/Management role.
● Bilingual in Spanish and English.
● Passionate and familiarity with LatinX art and culture and an established network that can contribute to CALA Alliance’s success.

What we offer:
● Pay: Up to $75,000.00 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
● Benefits include a monthly stipend for healthcare premiums.
● A flexible schedule including a hybrid work environment.
● Work Location: Office is located at the Garfield Galleria, 316 W. McDowell Rd #103, Phoenix, AZ 85003.
