We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Recruitment and Retention Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in attracting top talent to CG Schmidt and ensuring their long-term engagement and satisfaction within the organization. This position will involve developing and implementing effective recruitment strategies, enhancing employee retention programs, and continually assessing and improving our talent acquisition and retention efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within HR to develop and execute innovative recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates for various positions within the company.
  • Work with HR to identify a variety of sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, networking events, and employee referrals, to build a pipeline of talented individuals.
  • Coordinate and interviews, assess candidate qualifications, and make recommendations to hiring managers.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, develop job descriptions that attract top candidates, work with departments to develop screenings and assessment to best assess talent
  • Help to develop and facilitate employee engagement initiatives such as ERGs, recognition programs, wellness initiatives, team-building and events.
  • Help to manage the full cycle recruitment process, from initial contact through onboarding.
  • Implement and manage employee retention programs to enhance job satisfaction, engagement, and overall employee experience.
  • Conduct regular employee feedback sessions, surveys, and exit interviews to gather insights and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze recruitment and retention data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of concern.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with educational institutions, industry organizations, and other external partners to support recruitment efforts.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and legal requirements related to recruitment and retention.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Achieve annual recruitment targets for various positions within the company.
  • Reduce turnover rate by implementing effective retention programs and initiatives.
  • Increase employee satisfaction scores, as measured through surveys and feedback.
  • Improve time-to-fill metrics for open positions.
  • Enhance diversity and inclusion within the workforce.
  • Develop and maintain a strong talent pipeline for key roles within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Communications or related field.
  • Proven experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or human resources, preferably in the construction or commercial contracting industry.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment strategies, sourcing techniques, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and applicant tracking systems.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
