Upon completion of six (6) months of employment, the selected candidate can expect an annual salary as a permanent full-time employee with the federal contractor.Period of Performance: Currently position is “hybrid” in-office/ telework schedule with two (2) days a week in-office.   • Requires law degree, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one (1) year of study or

  • Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources
 
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as Lexis Nexis and Westlaw
 
  • Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging. Role also requires hands-on familiarity with Electronically Stored Information, ESI, tools and knowledge of e-Discovery procedures and resources
Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearancePreferred Qualifications: 
  • Licensed Attorney for the District of Columbia, D.C. and United States

  • Previous position working in a government legal support or litigation support environment in conjunction with basic qualifications
  • Experience with creation and maintenance of privilege logs
  • Prior experience with document reviews
  • Experience utilizing Relativity platform for litigation needs including review of documents (e-Discovery cloud-based software application)
  • Trial experience very helpful
  • Current or active clearance, prior Public Trust investigation completed with favorable outcome
Law Clerk IResponsibilities/Duties:The Litigation Support Team is currently supporting the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. with has one (1) opening for a Law Clerk I. Office location is in downtown Washington, D.C. DoJ federal office.  
  • Works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or a Project Supervisor
  • Performs complex legal research for the trial staff
  • Assists in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, et c. reviewing documents for relevance and privilege; and assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation
