Building & Earth Sciences is Hiring a HR Assistant - Part-Time Near Birmingham, AL

Overview:
Provide administrative team support to the Corporate Human Resources function in the areas of pre-employment and new hire onboarding, employee off-boarding, employee safety, training, employee performance management, and other administrative tasks.
This position will be a part-time role, requiring less than 30 hours per week. This is a perfect role for someone currenlty pursuing a degree in Human Resources.
Responsibilities:
  • Performs transactional, administrative and compliance duties related to talent acquisition and new hire onboarding.
  • Assists in tasks related to employee reviews including quarterly and 90-day reviews, and other performance management related communications and processes.
  • Assists in tasks related to termination of employees including removing personnel records from HRIS.
  • Assist in maintenance of Human Resources Information Data/System (UKG), HR Team Drive Personnel Files, & Building & Earth Outlook Contacts.
  • Assist in coordination of performance review program.
  • Provide administrative support for positive employee relation events, such as engagement activities, team meetings, United Way campaign, financial wellness, and flu shot clinics, etc..
  • Provides administrative support for employee safety, leadership and technical training, and development activities.
  • Provide backup assistance for accounting services as needed.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by HR Director or senior management.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree Program in Business Management or Administration, with a concentration in HRM or related program preferred.
  • General human resources, internship or administrative assistant experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills required.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Positive attitude, team player, and dependable.
  • Ability to work independently.
