Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Management Accountant to join our team. The Property Management Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of multiple properties that we act as 3rd-party management for. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting (payables and receivables), balance sheet reconciliation, financial reporting, and tax compliance. Experience with general ledger reconciliation is also preferred.
Duties
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for multiple properties
- Conduct monthly reconciliations
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Closely collaborate with property managers on accounts payable/receivable to ensure accurate recording of income and expenses
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist with accounting related to preparation of tax returns
- Conduct financial audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in property management accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in online accounting software
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation and financial auditing
- Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with AppFolio not required but a huge plus
