The Division of Executive Budget and Finance (DEBF), State Controller’s Office (SCO), provides centralized financial management, accounting, and internal control services; maintains the books of account, capital accounting services, cash management services, and summarizes and publishes necessary financial information, including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and the budgetary-based Annual Fiscal Report.
We are seeking to fill an Accountant (DOA GAAP) Management in the Financial Reporting Section of the State Controllers Office. This position will be headquartered at the DOA Office Building at 101 E. Wilson Street, Madison, WI 53703.
This position will be expected to report into office at least 2 days each week.

This is high level professional accounting position related to the development, implementation and maintenance of complex systems and accounting procedures to compile and analyze financial information and other data necessary to convert the State’s budgetary basis of financial reporting to the governmental GAAP basis of financial reporting in order to produce the State’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). In addition, this position will focus on assisting in the development of strategies to implement, organize and utilize tools to support financial reporting processes; which will include the retrieval, coordination, and compilation of information for entries, financial statements, note disclosures, reconciliations, and reports for various state agencies.

This position is in schedule-range (81-02) which is a career executive level. The salary will be between $90,520 and $97,760. In addition, up to $1.00 per hour CPA add-on may be available depending on qualifications. A 2-year career executive trial period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. Per the current State Controller’s remote work policy, employees in this position will be expected to report into the office a least 2 days each week.
