Java Developer

6-12 Month Contract to hire

Remote as a contract but will be required to be hybrid for full time role (St. Louis or Philadelphia)

Brooksource's fortune 500 Healthcare Insurance client is looking for an experienced Java developer to join their Software Excellence team. Their software engineering teams are facing several vulnerabilities in the application images currently. We are in need of a strong senior developer who will analyze, categorize these vulnerabilities and recommend bulk fixation strategies/best practices/ their enforcement by working closely with principle architects and security organization. He/she will also review the many automated code rewriter softwares (open source and/ or licensed) and provide recommendation to use one. He/she will then execute the recommendations. Once the solutions are in place, this engineer will work closely with software engineering teams to adopt these solutions and reduce the vulnerabilities in images and implement best practices.

A successful senior developer will create automation and processes along with mentoring for software engineering teams to make application images more secure by reducing number of vulnerabilities by addressing root causes.

Duties:

• Provides counsel and advice to top management on significant Engineering matters, often requiring coordination between organizations.
• Designs and develops a consolidated, conformed enterprise data warehouse and data lake which store all critical data across Customer, Provider, Claims, Client and Benefits data.
• Manages processes that are highly complex and impact the greater organization.
• Designs, develops and implements methods, processes, tools and analyses to sift through large amounts of data stored in a data warehouse or data mart to find relationships and patterns.
• May lead or manage sizable projects.
• Participates in the delivery of the definitive enterprise information environment that enables strategic decision-making capabilities across enterprise via an analytics and reporting.
• Focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines.
• Recognized internally as “the go-to person” for the most complex Information Management assignments.

Skills:

• 4 years of development experience
• Strong Java developer*
• In-depth understanding of java dependencies*
• Comfortable with docker and Kubernetes*
• Knowledge/Experience with automated code rewriters like springboot migrator, open rewrite and CAS software" with this: "understanding /knowledge of spring-boot-migrator, OpenRewrite, CAST Software, GitHub Dependabot is desirable but not must have
• Comfortable using a CI/CD pipeline, making changes if necessary
• Experienced with migrations to Openshift and EKS
• Comfortable being a mentor/Evangelist to application teams

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
