A lovely family of four in Lower Manhattan is seeking a full-time, live-out nanny to join their team. The schedule for this role will be Monday through Friday, 47 hours baseline. 7am-3pm on Mondays and Thursdays; 7am-5:30pm Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 7am-5pm on Fridays. This is to accommodate both children's schedules and nursery school. The family has two children, ages 2.5 and 4-months-old, and they currently have an afternoon/evening nanny- the nannies will overlap for several hours in the afternoon.
Duties include everything related to the children and their care- children's laundry and light meal preparation, organizing the children's areas, planning and executing engaging activities and outings, and managing sleep and feeding schedules. The older child attends nursery school during the afternoon several days per week, so the nanny will be responsible for accompanying him as needed. The family has a housekeeper, so deep cleaning is not required, but the nanny should feel comfortable with keeping common areas tidy, including running and emptying the dishwasher, keeping an eye on inventory and making shopping lists, and keeping the fridge and pantry organized. The nanny should have experience and be comfortable with caring for an infant and a very busy toddler simultaneously. The toddler is high energy and is used to getting out of the house on a daily basis, so the nanny should enjoy getting out regularly for walks, play-dates, and classes.
The family values curiosity, kindness, and independence, and they are seeking a nanny who shares those qualities and is able to instill them in their children. The nanny should be proactive and enjoy creativity and discovery; seeking out new classes and activities, and introducing the children to a variety of interests, classes, recipes, etc. The nanny should also be proactive in helping the children to develop independent skills through modeling and guided experience. The household is firm about boundaries and structure, but do so with gentleness and patience, and without raised voices- the nanny should be kind and help instill that kindness in the children as well.
The family travels domestically and internationally several times per year, and the nanny should be willing/able to accompany them. They plan to take extended trips in the summer and potentially the winter as well (approximately a month), and the nanny should be willing to join them for at least part of that time. Driving would be a huge bonus, and swimming would be a plus, but neither are required. A COVID vaccine and willingness to get a flu vaccine are required for this role. The family is offering a rate of $30/hr. for this position. They are seeking a long-term relationship with a fantastic nanny who wants to be with their family for many years. If you are legal to work in the US and would like to be considered for this position, please apply to AS483.
